does your credit score improve after old delinquent accounts disappear?

February 4, 2010 · Posted in How to Improve Credit Score

I know it takes 7 years for any delinquent accounts to be removed from your credit report, but after they are gone, does your credit score improve? If of course you don’t have any late payments, or other past due accounts?

Yes it doe’s but since 90% of credit scores are based on the last 24-months of activity anything that is so old that it drops off by itself is having very little affect on peoples score so it wont be much.

You can increase your score much faster by opening new accounts and establishing good pay history’s.

Yes, but not as much as you might think unless you are also building positive "new" credit.References :

Ask lenders for agreement to delete this items from your credit report when paying them. I recommend to get such agreement thru credit repair agency, for example this one – credit-report-score.10001mb.comReferences :
