Repair Credit Score/Report?

April 3, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 4 Comments

I have a bad credit score because I have not paid my credit cards for 3 months – i have late fees and almost all my credit cards are maxed out.

I am in $8,000 debt to credit card companies.

NOW – I have money to pay off all my credit card debts – i.e I can pay off all the amount owed ($8,000) in one straight go.

My question is — if I do that would my credit score improve in a month — because I would not have any debts to anyone ..

Would welcome any other suggestion

Сredit repair workеd fine to fix my credit. They disputed and removed lots of bad items from my credit report. I used this service – buildcredit.ifastnet.com

Some credit agencies proclaim get free credit score repairing consultancy to start process. Is that worthy?

38 & Looking to Repair Credit Score (Personal and L.L.C.)?

March 28, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 4 Comments

I had some very old debt that has caused me to have a very low FICO (568).

SInce then have started my own business and want to get credit score all cleaned up.

2 Questions:

Have checks in hand to pay the less than $2K in bad credit reports. I assume the best way to proceed is to get a secure credit card with a bank.

1.) How long to get a near perfect credit score using the secure credit card and making double payments every month?

2.) How can I get a company credit card so that my business can begin to build credit? Secure card in the company name?

Cheers,

Many CC companies offer a biz card, Capitol One does. They will use your score for the application though.

It depends on how old the debt is, they stay on your report for anywhere from 4 to 10 years depending on the holder of the debt.

Double payments will start showing up in 60 days…expect your score to start going up from then on if you at least make double payments. Also, if you have the cash, pay everything with a card then pay off the card quickly, they love that ;) And keep to the plan, don’t spend your cash on other things "just this once", use it to pay off the monthly charges on the card.

You can even almost max the card out then hold half the payment in cash to pay it off next month. This will show a higher balance paid off quickly but dang it, you have to keep the cash to pay it or trouble will come fast.

Credit Score – Why is it important to repair it now adays?

March 26, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 5 Comments

Why is credit score that important? please send resources.

Credit Score

Why is it important?

Your credit score is used by all sorts of people/companies to determine how likely you are to pay back money you have borrowed from them. The more likely they are to get paid the less interest they may charge to lend it to you.

While the credit report only records your payment history, it can affect the cost or your eligibility for employment, housing and insurance rates.

Why is it important to repair?

Not everyone’s credit needs repair, but 80% of credit reports contain errors. Most of the errors are minor. Mistyped or wrong address.

If there are major errors here are some tips to get them fixed:

1. You must request a copy of your report directly from the credit agency.
-You can do this by getting your Free Credit Report from the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov
– If you have applied for credit in the last 30 days you are entitled to a free copy of the report.
– You can pay for a copy of your report directly on the credit bureau sites.

2. You must complete a dispute. You can try to dispute the information online with EACH of the 3 agencies. If you need to send them documentation then you will need to write a letter explaining the information to be corrected/removed along with a copy of your documents.

3. The credit agency will process your request and send you a revised copy of your report reflecting the changes with in 45 days of the dispute. (The creditor has 30 days to verify the information is correct as reported or the info is removed. Then a couple of extra days for mailing stuff)

Here is the contact info for the 3 agencies:

Equifax Information Services, LLC

Can any-one recommend a DIY course for credit repair?

March 24, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 3 Comments

I want to repair my credit score but do not want to pay a company to do it. Does any-one know where I can learn how to do it myself on the internet?

Never pay a penny when the information is out there for free.

If you haven’t done so yet, you should read through some of the FTC sites, such as the FDCPA and the FCRA.
There are also a few free non spam credit discussion boards where you can learn.
The best two, in my opinion, are creditboards.com and creditinfocenter.com.

Read and learn as much as you can and ask any questions you may have before you begin sending letters out.

how do i repair my credit report and score within a year?

March 22, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 6 Comments

within the next year i need to be able to take out a living expense loan for graduate school by myself without a co-signer. i have about 8 student loans, all deferred and 2 hospital bills and a credit card on my credit with a score of 576.

A year is plenty of time if you have the money to pay something on these debts.

With a score below 600, I am assuming that your old debts are now charged off. What you need to do now is pull your three credit reports for free at annualcreditreport.com and see if they are sold to collections yet or not.

You need to do this ASAP because if the bills are not in collections yet, you can do some negotiating with the hospital and the credit card company and fix your credit pretty quick.

If they are sold to collections, then you will have to negotiate with them. You can still do it, but it will be harder and take longer.

And don’t bother hiring anyone to do this for you. Do it yourself for free.

on edit:

The guy telling you that you need to pay something on your student loans has no idea what he is talking about. If your loans are federal loans (i.e. not private), then they will most likely remain in deferment so long as you go to school.

I wouldnt know but i bet free credit report.com does

with a credit score of 600, I don’t want it to go any lower. Should I apply for a c.card or do a credit repair

March 16, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 9 Comments

I don’t want mt score to go any lower, should I leave it as is, or do a credit repair?

just leave it as is.. applying for another credit card will lower your score.. and credit repair companies doesnt work.. the only thing that helps is you maintain your credit cards.. make monthly payments on time or just pay them off right away
