How Resellers Improve Credit Scores For Mortgage Buyers

March 31, 2010 · Posted in Increase Credit Score · 14 Comments

How Resellers Improve Credit Scores For Mortgage Buyers

Big mortgage companies was pressing CRAs (Credit Reporting Agencies) to allow fast re-scoring for their clients to get them approved for mortgage. As a result now we have a 3rd party facilitators called “resellers”. Resellers help mortgage prospects to improve their credit score. They are paid by mortgage lenders. They are not allowed to advertise their services to general public.

Resellers can achieve fast results because they receive “preferred” fast service from CRAs (they don’t have to wait 30 days), and because they concentrate on activity which provides fast results. You can achieve the same results (it will take just couple of weeks longer). Here are the main focus points:

(1) Late payments – make “Good will” request to the lender (credit card company) to remove it.

(2) Make a payment on an account – and get a signed letter.

(3) Maxed out or high balance on revolving account (more than 30-35%) – pay, get a letter.

(4) Account that has been paid in full, but shown as having a balance – request a letter from the creditor confirming that the account is paid in full. Be careful about old ‘charge-offs’: if they are old – better let them stay ‘as is’. For more details why look here: http://www.101creditrepair.com

(5) Account which is not yours – dispute.

(6) Records which are too old (for example, an account beyond 7 year limit) – ask to remove

(7) Other accounts that should not be in report, for example a collection that has been already paid to another collection agency.

(8) Multiple references to the same account – dispute.

(9) An account on which you are only an ‘authorized user’. Authorized users are not legally obligated for payments. Yet the FICO scoring model still scores authorized user accounts as if they were joint users. Dispute.

How can I improve my credit score of 685?

March 30, 2010 · Posted in How to Improve Credit Score · 4 Comments

I have a credit score of 685. It’s pretty good but I would like to improve it. I have a mortgage and a home equity-line of credit that are both payed on time and in good standing. I have 2 Credit cards and 7 store charge cards. The oldest Credit card is only 3 years old. The store charge cards are older. i don’t use them to often but do not want to close them becasue they are my oldest accounts. I have some old/closed CC cards that had some late payments. I also had a collection from an unpaid ticket. That collection was paid off 2 years ago.
Any tips on what to change: like closing accounts, moving balances around, asking for credit card limit increases?? The most damaging item is that collection. It was payed off in full when I finally learned about it. Can I get the collection agency to remove it or somehow make it look better.???

While I agree with the person who implies to pay in cash… in the U.S. it simply is against a person’s best interest not to have the highest possible credit score… so much to gain and leverage to boot :)

So.. my answer to you is this:
Ask the CC to increase your credit limits. Make sure 100% of your CCs are paid in full. Pay that home-equity line down as much as possible as well.

Don’t close accouts, that can actually hurt you more often than help you

FACTA limits the ability for creditors to remove your history. I would ask for the collections agency to remove the delinquent history based on the argument that you paid it as soon as you were aware; however, I would not expect it to be likely that they can or will remove the derogitory information.

Fraud by family, What do I do now? How do i fix it on my credit report?

March 30, 2010 · Posted in Fix Credit Report · 4 Comments

So my father took my info and opened credit cards in 2003-2004. I recently looked at my file and there is more in 2007. I put a fraud alert on my account. But now what? Contact the collection agencies? Any step by step instructions would be great. Thank you

My Wife went through this with her Son a few years ago and the only way to clear it up is to file a report with the police and send copies to both the credit card companies and the credit bureaus.

Weather or not the credit card companies or the police will do anything to your Dad is up to them, but they did nothing to my Wife’s Son.

Within a month my Wife’s credit was cleared.

What are some websites on how i can repair or fix my credit score?

38 & Looking to Repair Credit Score (Personal and L.L.C.)?

March 28, 2010 · Posted in Credit Score Repair · 4 Comments

I had some very old debt that has caused me to have a very low FICO (568).

SInce then have started my own business and want to get credit score all cleaned up.

2 Questions:

Have checks in hand to pay the less than $2K in bad credit reports. I assume the best way to proceed is to get a secure credit card with a bank.

1.) How long to get a near perfect credit score using the secure credit card and making double payments every month?

2.) How can I get a company credit card so that my business can begin to build credit? Secure card in the company name?

Cheers,

Many CC companies offer a biz card, Capitol One does. They will use your score for the application though.

It depends on how old the debt is, they stay on your report for anywhere from 4 to 10 years depending on the holder of the debt.

Double payments will start showing up in 60 days…expect your score to start going up from then on if you at least make double payments. Also, if you have the cash, pay everything with a card then pay off the card quickly, they love that ;) And keep to the plan, don’t spend your cash on other things "just this once", use it to pay off the monthly charges on the card.

You can even almost max the card out then hold half the payment in cash to pay it off next month. This will show a higher balance paid off quickly but dang it, you have to keep the cash to pay it or trouble will come fast.

Mike
