I’m in the process of improving my credit score. I have 2 items that are old, from Aug. 2002. They are scheduled to be removed from my credit report in Aug. of this year. Once they’re dropped will my credit score improve? Or will it remain the same and just not have those negative items on my report? Please help!
You would be losing history when they fall off. Even though they are negatives their ages are still counted in your history.
If you have a thin file, few accounts in good standing or short history, then you may see no change or possibly a bit of a drop in your scores.
If you have a thick file you may see no change or possibly a rise in your scores.
If your scores do drop then they should rebound in a few months and as long as you keep your other accounts in good standing they should continue to climb.

I recently applied for a home loan, but the broker told i need it a higher score for a better mortgage rate. The broker offer to fix my credit and get me the preaproval. I am still not convince that the broker can do this for me.
Under federal law, your credit score can only be changed to correct mistakes or if your credit has been used fraudulently (ie someone stole your identity).
If the mortgage broker is offering to bump your credit score up in order for you to get a better loan, that woud be wholly illegal. If they did it with your knowledge, that would make you culpable.
Sounds like you need a new mortgage broker. If your current broker is willing to cheat a bank in order to get a bigger loan, think about how willing they probably are to cheat you.
Good luck.

See credit reporting agencies. In the United States today there are 3 big Credit Reporting Bureaus in operation. They are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Although, there are others these are by far the most important and the ones I will discuss below.
Consumer Credit Reporting Companies are Bureaus who record all our Consumer Credit transactions. You can view this information by requesting a Credit Score And Report. This can help you maintain and improve your Credit since you know where problems lie.
Credit Score And Reporting Companies monitor the spending habits of people rather closely. This has its good and bad sides. If you are good with Credit it means you will be more likely to get the loan you need at a lower interest rate. If you are bad with your Consumer Credit you may be denied further loans.
When a borrower applies for a Consumer Credit card or Consumer Credit line, the lender will request their own own Report. It may show things like monthly income, current loans, bill payment history and any potential red flags for lenders.
These Companies are the one who investigates and monitor people’s spending constantly. After the investigation regarding the monthly income and other history of any given borrower the Credit Reporting Bureaus can calculate how much of a Credit limit a lender should be willing to offer.
Having a Consumer Credit card is good but you must know how to use them and you must know how to control your spending. Use it for only for emergency purposes as much as possible. Failure to do so could damage your Credit worthiness.
Credit Score And Reporting Bureaus can also monitor your Credit for you. However, to use such a service you have to pay a monthly fee. The benefit is that you can see potential red flags sooner and maybe even stop identity theft in its tracks.
Reporting Bureaus can also give borrowers advice and good ideas on how to use their Credit card to avoid problems in the near future. Use the information found on their websites to help improve your Credit. It always a good idea to stay on top of your Credit information, because what you don’t know could hurt you.
